Just a reminder about holiday opening hours for the library and digilab.

Mon 27 Sept - Fri 1 Oct: 9.30am - 4.30pm
Mon 4 - Wed 6 Oct: Closed

Digilab:

Mon 27 Sept - Fri 1 Oct: Closed to regular students - being used by HSC Intensive

National Photographic Portrait Prize 2011

Deadline: 12 November 2010
Prize:$25,000 generously sponsored by VISA
Open to: Aspiring and professional photographers 25 years and older. Must be an Australian resident.
About:
The National Photographic Portrait Prize is an annual event intended to promote the very best in contemporary photographic portraiture by both professional and aspiring Australian photographers. The exhibition will be displayed at the National Portrait Gallery from 25 February to 17 April 2011 and tour to selected venues throughout 2011.
Entries:
Each entrant may submit up to three entries for selection for the Prize. No more than one entry from each entrant can be selected for exhibition.

2011 City of Albany Art Prize

Deadline: 3 December 2010
Prize:
Acquisitive: $25,000 plus 4 weeks studio time in Albany, WA with $25,00 for expenses. Non-acquisitive: 2 Highly Commended Awards of $1,000 each.
Open to:
All Australian artists.
About:
Prestigious national exhibition for paintings. Entry Forms and Conditions available from website in mid August. Entries are received as digital images. 30 paintings are selected for exhibition in Albany, WA in March 2011. The organizer pays for freight of selected paintings from nearest capital city to Albany and return if unsold. .
Entries:
No limit on number of entries. Each entry must be a 2D work which is substantial

If you are currently in 2nd year, 3rd year, Honours or Masters you are eligible to apply for an exhibition.

Parramatta Artists Studios

Parramatta Artists Studios

Located in the centre of Parramatta’s CBD and in the heart of Western Sydney, the Parramatta Artists Studios offer affordable non-residential/residential studio and exhibition space to emerging and established contemporary artists, craft practitioners and creative industry professionals.

The focus of the Parramatta Artists Studios is to facilitate contemporary arts production. Once involved, the Studios can assist your practice and/or small business by building networks, informal and formal mentoring and providing professional advice and opportunities. This is all a part of the Parramatta Artists Studios mission to hot house new ideas and be an incubator for collaboration and contemporary arts production.

Studios are available to painters, sculptors, designers, new media artists, writers, curators, performers, filmmakers, musicians, dramaturges and poets. It is for anyone that has a contemporary arts practice and needs a space.
