The Poimena Art Award (Poimena Art Gallery Tasmania) is a prize for mixed media work.
Any artist working in Australia or overseas can enter.

POIMENA ART AWARD ENTRY FORM

THEME:
For the 2009 award artists are asked to consider the notion of ‘brink’.

Some definitions of ‘brink’ are:
• a region marking a boundary
• the limit beyond which something happens or changes
• the edge of a steep place

JUDGES:
Kristin Headlam - artist living and working in Melbourne
Neil Haddon - artist living and working in Hobart and winner of the
Poimena Art Award 2005

PRIZE:
The prize will consist of $5000 plus $2000 towards travel to a destination of the
artist’s choice.

CRITICAL DATES:
Closing date for entries Friday 17 April 2009
Notification of selected artists Friday 15 May 2009
Receipt of work Monday 15 & Tuesday 16 June 2009 between 9am and 4pm
Announcement of winner Friday 26 June 2009
Exhibition Friday 26 June to Thursday 23 July 2009
Work to be collected by Tuesday 28 July 2009 by 4pm
All other work will be dispatched
at the artist’s expense by Wednesday 29 July 2009
